This simple survey will tell you how left-handed you are and give you an overall score you can compare to the thousands of others who have taken the test.
You can see our analysis of the test results so far here.
So go ahead and tick the options for which hand you use for various things and see how you rate overall…
How left handed are you?
We all have our own view of whether we are left-handed or not and, ultimately, that is the the test - if you consider yourself to be left-handed then you are! That said, most people are mixed in their handedness and it is rare for people to do everything with just one hand or side of their body. Our test below will show which side you use for various tasks and how consistent you are in the use of your hands. It will also give you give you an overall score out of 100 for your level of left-handedness and you can see how you compare to other people. To get the overall score, we have weighted the various factors so, for example, writing left-handed gets a far higher weighting in the overall score than which way you hold a bat two-handed (see this page for more information on how we did this).
We should receive reparations from the federal government.
This is funny. I have done other tests and it says I am right handed. This test says I am left handed and I did another test that said I was mix handed. I would think I fall under mixed handed. It all depends on the quetions asked…interesting
Left handed scissors were not an option in school 60 years ago…had to learn to cut with right handed…and it was a struggle! I didn’t know they were “right handed” and couldn’t figure out why my scissors never worked! The only other thing I do right handed is turn pages in a book…but oddly when I read a newspaper (yes I still do)….i read it back to front 😁…
I do most things left handed, but the questions on crossing arms, clapping and gripping hands behind my back quite surprised me, as I proved to do all three right handed. As someone else mentioned, turning pages of a book is an unfair question, because of how books are constructed (and also e-readers). On the rare occasion that I iron anything (I haven’t for years), I switch from hand to hand. I only use a mouse with my right hand, which surprised me when I first used one some 40 years ago. I am probably less left handed now than I was as a young adult (I celebrated my 75th birthday a couple of days ago).
I didn’t realize how left handed I was until a friend stayed with us for a week and my husband walked into the kitchen with our guest and told him the dishes, silverware glasses wherein the cupboards backwards bc I’m left handed. My mind was totally blown, I had never known that-lol.
I got seriously left handed (95%). The only thing I do “right” is look through a telescope or microscope. I only use my right eye more because the vision in my left eye isn’t that great. I had a clogged tear duct when I was born, so I think that has something to do with it.
Looking forward to seeing how left handed I am. My husband always moans when I wind something up left handed .
The question about turning pages was unfair due to the nature of how books are printed.
so like i think i mixxed handed because my mom is born right handed and my dad is born left handed and alot of people say that im ambidextrous but i wanna do a test
I cut with scissors with my right hand as there are never any left handed scissors anywhere and I’ve had to ‘retrain’ myself accordingly!
When I was a kid, my uncle tought me how to play golf – he only had right handed clubs and, to this day, I play right-handed (badly). I want some lessons as I might just be a better player if I play left handed…
Unfortunately, I’m a bit deaf in my left ear, so have to use the right a tad more.
My dad was a total lefty. I seem to have adapted to some right hand activities, but the main things I do are left handed [eating, writing, tooth brushing and shaving].
