This simple survey will tell you how left-handed you are and give you an overall score you can compare to the thousands of others who have taken the test.
You can see our analysis of the test results so far here.
So go ahead and tick the options for which hand you use for various things and see how you rate overall…
How left handed are you?
We all have our own view of whether we are left-handed or not and, ultimately, that is the the test - if you consider yourself to be left-handed then you are! That said, most people are mixed in their handedness and it is rare for people to do everything with just one hand or side of their body. Our test below will show which side you use for various tasks and how consistent you are in the use of your hands. It will also give you give you an overall score out of 100 for your level of left-handedness and you can see how you compare to other people. To get the overall score, we have weighted the various factors so, for example, writing left-handed gets a far higher weighting in the overall score than which way you hold a bat two-handed (see this page for more information on how we did this).
Heyy I’m Neeraj TM and I’m a left handed guy 🙌🤩.damn it’s so challenging for any leftyy to perform the way like rightyy guy😤
Really I feel better now,
because of more left hander in the world I understand about that by
your site.
@Thomas Moore: Yes! Everyone has a dominant hand and a non-dominant hand. So you are pouring with your dominant hand! Maybe you are a closet leftie like me.. I am a leftie who was forced “right” in school, which turned me into a clumsy rightie. Years later I noticed that I automatically used my left hand for many things (for instance, righties perch babies on their left hip so their right hand is free, but I did the opposite with my babies.) SA few years ago I injured my right arm, and while it was healing I had the ideal incentive to see just how left-handed I am. To my surprise, as a leftie I am better at pouring and throwing – and really good at golf and baseball! My printing is good but still working on my writing – and get this – I could never learn cursive writing with my right hand, but automatically do it with my left! The brain is a strange and wonderful organ.
@Angus: The genetic aspect does seem to be fairly random. My dad and my husband’s father were lefties, but not our mothers or siblings. Only one of my six kids inherited the trait, and none of my sister’s five. My oldest daughter has three kids – the youngest is left-handed.
When I measure things pouring from one vessel to another, I hold the receiving container with my right hand and pour with the left. Is it a left-handed thing?
I have noted that as a kefty I hold telephones with my right hand due to two lefty reasons.
1. Then I can take notes with the pen in my left hand
2. Then I can change stuff (menus etc) on my phone using my left hand
Why is using the left ear a lefty thing in you test?
You should probably include an option c, which would mean that we use both hands. If that option isn’t included in the questions, then it isn’t that reliable.
Gab is right
My mother was left handed, and my two younger brothers and father are right handed. None of my daughter’s are lefties, so it appears that the super lefty genes have not too much logic to them but I am super proud to be a Molly Dooker.
I got left but mixed the first timme but i tool it again because i had messed up a few questions cause the is no bot box so yeah
First test: 55%left handed Second test:70%left
Need more both options, or forced in Kindergarten to be a right handed
