So go ahead and tick the options for which hand you use for various things and see how you rate overall…

How left handed are you?

We all have our own view of whether we are left-handed or not and, ultimately, that is the the test - if you consider yourself to be left-handed then you are! That said, most people are mixed in their handedness and it is rare for people to do everything with just one hand or side of their body. Our test below will show which side you use for various tasks and how consistent you are in the use of your hands. It will also give you give you an overall score out of 100 for your level of left-handedness and you can see how you compare to other people. To get the overall score, we have weighted the various factors so, for example, writing left-handed gets a far higher weighting in the overall score than which way you hold a bat two-handed (see this page for more information on how we did this).

  • Use of left hand

  • Other body parts

  • Left and right arm positions

I am 96% left handed. There were 3 or 4 question for which my answer is not accurate because of injuries that prevent me to use the opposite limb with confidence. I knew before the test that I was definitively Left handed because I belongs to this generation where parents tried to make you right handed but when actually my mother gave up when I systematically put back my spoon in the left hand when she was trying to teach me to eat with my right hand. Unlike a lot of left handed people I write with my left hand the same way the right handed people do and as a result I hate spiral notebooks.

Good day to all left handers , we all are rare and have a higher rate of success so be you.

There’s no field for tasks done with either hand, and no accommodation for the fact I’m only right eye dominant because I’m very long sighted in my left eye only (genetically, my RH brother has the same problem.) Otherwise a very well done quiz

I noticed the ticks were all right-handed. Why was this? Whenever I tick boxes I always use left handed ticks ie backward slant.

  6. Rose says:

I got 100%. I pretty much already knew that I am a through and through lefty. when I was in kinder the teacher said to my mum “it looks like shes going to be left handed would you like me to change her hand?” my mother said “no! I want to encourage her left handedness.” Mum already knew I was a leftie even before kinder! And this is in the mid 1960s!

It’s really awesome to do this test and prove my self again that i am indeed a left handed person. I love being left handed in this right handed world and waiting for the day which is specially allocated to us. Again, i sm proud to be a left hander. Cheers to all left handers!

I agree with most of it but for most of them I kind of wish there was an option for both bc I use both for things pretty equally

  9. Diana Bentley says:

With a 96% score I know I’m left handed, I worked on what is called a Cornelly machine it worked from a handle used by the right hand underneath the machine with a circular foot which moves the motion which way you turn the handle the result is beautiful embroidery in a continuous chain stitch, it took me 2 years to learn to do that. When I became a dressmaker my Italian boss used a mirror image for my training which resulted in my making ball gowns and weddings dresses with intricate design some where made for the Queen Mother. I loved working for Nadia my boss. Now retired I learned a lot of creatively can be done by being left handed. What started off with apalling handwriting, smearing ink across my hand and page, ended with calligraphy (of a sorts) I am proud of being left handed and my determination to never let it hold me back.

I got 90%, which makes me “seriously left handed”! I write left, kick left, brush teeth and hair left, use utensils left, throw right, bat/golf right, right eye dominance, clap left, use bat one handed left, so pretty much i play baseball right handed and use a telescope!
