I am 63 and I am thrilled to be left handed. Nuns would hit my hand with a ruler while I was learning to print demanding that I change hands. No one in my family growing up was left handed. No one wanted to sit next to me during dinner, and there was no sports equipment for left handed people in high school. Even with all that … I am thrilled to be left handed. Now with my own family, my husband and daughter are left handed . Our other three children are not … we all can’t be perfect. Happy left handed day everyone

Most all of us ‘south paws’ have suffered through a right hand biased culture. The principles of modern physics are even in on the “fix”….however, if you my fellow left handers need a boost of moral in terms of getting an incredible insight into the scheer power possessed by the brain’s right hemisphere I recommend you read Dr. Iain McGilchrist’s book, “The Master and His Emissary…” Published by Yale University Press 2010. Long, but every word of it speaks to we, the world’s sinisters. It’s a brilliant work.

Hi I’m a 53 year old left handed guy, great to know there’s a left handed club. Early on in life being left handed was very much a struggle, I remember while at primary school being forced to continually change knife and fork from right hand to left and vis versa metal and woodworking classes were very difficult having great trouble manipulating tools and also having trouble with numbers and reading, not so much now, nobody ever understood

At 60 I’m so proud and excited about joining, while my right-handed partner is just saying,”Why?”. I’m the only left-handed person in my large family but to my delight both my little granddaughters are left-handed. It’s silly, I know, but. I feel that when I go,I’ll be leaving them something wonderful for life. Of course, when the time is right, they can join too!

It’s never to late mummy, you did the best. For me am 29 years old from Uganda and am trying my best to see how i can help the young left handers because in Uganda many are still tortured for being lefties in schools and families. I went through alot of torture so I want change for this generation.

      • Tracey-Anne Pring says:

So sorry you had to endure this, and that many children are still being punished for being left handed. Well done for working to change things for them and future left handed children.

    • Christine says:
