I’m such a lefty and love it!
I didn’t know we had a day. I joined today. I’ve been lefthanded for 60 years. When I was in kindergarten my teacher tried to make me write with my right hand. It didn’t happen 🥰
Fun fact: Hebrew reads right to left…..
HI, proud Native FL-oridian South paw here…I figured what perfect day to join a Leftie’s club, than on OUR day!
Even though I am left handed, English still reads left to right.
I entered the 1st grade in 1950; the teacher was Mrs. Worthington. After several weeks in school she tied my left arm to the side of the chair. My parents argued with the school system about this action. Mrs. Worthington did not promote me to the 2nd grade because she felt I was not in sync with the rest of the class. This was traumatic because all my friends were a grade ahead. I believe this affected much of my earlier learning and development.
Something that frustrates me is clothing; shirts have the pocket(s) on the left side, sport and dress jackets also have their pockets on the left side and overcoats additionally have their inside pockets are on the left side. This makes it difficult to reach items in those pockets. I try to purchase shirts and sport coats with 2 pockets.
Many of my tools and scissors are for lefties; drives my right handed friends crazy. Haha.
How awful for you in school! My mom said she used to ENCOURAGE me to do things right handed..but said she stopped once she realized that wasn’t my nature. Don’t ever remember any hardships in school, had issues other ways, lol. Funny thing is, I cut everything left handed, but feel better with RIGHT handed scissors. Have a great ‘our day’…LEFTY’S rule!!! Also (in Tampa) it’s (area code) 813 day and a cousin’s b-day.
I’ll never forget our day and wear my shirt proudly!
Glad to join.August 13th is my Moms birthday. Can’t forget the day.Been a struggle being left handed for 66 years. Proud to be lefty
This is an awesome club!
