The easiest way to celebrate Left Handers Day is on Twitter and Facebook.
Your Guide to Twitter and Facebook
You can also turn your home or workplace into a Left Handed Zone.
We are very interested in your ideas on ways to celebrate Left Handers Day and all of the good things about being left-handed, as well as ways to show right-handers some of the frustrations and difficulties we face in everyday life because of the way things are designed for the right-handed majority.
If you have any ideas, please add them as comments below and we will put them all together on a page and in a forthcoming newsletter.
Today is my birthday August 13th 1976,I am a lefty ….and holy crap was I surprised to find out that my birthday corresponded with left-handed day!!!I celebrated by climbing Mt. St. Helens for the 14th time and took my son with me up it for his fist time!!!!
🙂
i have been wearing my left handers hat with the website on and a local cafe has nearly all of its staff left handed and i share my lefty kitchen equipment with other lefties at home
I notice once again prices are being forced up, not by the retailers but by the government’s. Some are simply an effort to stop purchasing from abroad!!!
Hi Pat
If you are in the USA then yes – if you are planning to order in the next few months, please order before 27th August 2025 (that allows us a day to ship the order given the time differences) as the existing “low value goods” (de minimis) threshold for items entering the USA from the UK will be removed.
Instead of no duty / tariffs being payable by individuals up to $800, all orders shipped to the USA will incur tariffs / duties from 29th August – and if we post the order these tariffs/duties must be paid before the goods can enter the USA.
As a small niche market business we do not have any capacity to take the hit on the cost of either the tariffs/duties or the systems needed to handle them. We will therefore need to add these charges to your order at checkout and arrange payment to US Customs in advance — which represents a significant change to our current process.
Due to the extremely short notice (we were only advised of this by Royal Mail last night), we will probably have to temporarily pause USA orders while we adjust our systems – although we may be able to switch to FedEx (if they can still invoice the recipient directly for duties/tariffs) but their shipping charges are higher than Royal Mail.
Unfortunately this matter is completely out of our hands.
Today is my birthday, I was born August 13th 1971. The day our “Holiday” was founded. Happy birthday to all left-handers out there. Remember to tie a knot for someone special today because we just don’t write L-handed. Even though my kids are right handed I taught them to tie their horse Cinch left-handed and it brings no small amount of angst to the horse world when someone has to switch out a saddle. It’s my own little game. Rock on!
Just remember to remind all the right-handers you come across that everyone is born right-handed only the greatest can overcome it! Happy left handers day
So Today is Left-handers Day and in conjunction with the International body and upon research we have noticed that parents think it is not a good thing to allow the child use his or her Left hand✋ even in writing or doing other activities, Reasons bothered upon Respect & Reciprocity….
Let me intimate you on the things that will make you look on the positive side, Firstly being Left-handed is a Gift from the almighty, stopping your child from using his/her God’s giving gift is like stopping the work of their creator, We are Imaginative, Creative, Fast Thinkers, Surprising, Ambiguous, Loveable, Humanitarians,
Supporting, Fun to be with, Dexterous, Giving, Playful, Intelligent, Beautiful, Handsome, Delightful, Obsessive.. The list goes ON & ON. Dear African parents being Left-handed is only but a Gift you get in your family once or twice in a Generation, Please allow us Fulfill that Purposé.
Today I join my Voice with the international body to say Left-handedness is a Gift & should not be discriminated or looked down on. Let’s grow the culture & see the good therein.
My Name is ABANG OKEM PATRICK, I Stand with the Left-handers.
